BIO-ON GRANTS BIOPLASTIC TECHNOLOGY LICENSE TO RUSSIAN GROUP TAIF FOR PRODUCTION IN RUSSIA. 17.6 MILLION EURO AGREEMENT.
  • A highly important agreement for technological and commercial relations between Italy and Russia was signed in Moscow in the presence of Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin and Italy's Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.
  • The agreement is worth 17.6 million Euro for Italian company Bio-on: 5.6 million for licensing the technology to produce 100% natural and biodegradable PHAs bioplastic, and 12 million for supplying high-tech fermentors design plants to the TAIF JSC group.
  • This agreement will see the Russian Federation's first PHAs production plant (in Republic of Tatarstan) with Bio-on technology. The TAIF JSC group will invest 90 million Euro in the production hub. The hub is expected to be operational by 2020.

TAIF GROUP AND BIO-ON ANNOUNCE TO HAVE CONCLUDED AN AGREEMENT FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF BIOPLASTIC PRODUCTION PROJECT IN TATARSTAN.
MOSCOW October 25, 2018 - Yesterday took place in Moscow, in the presence of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, the signing ceremony of the contract for the implementation of a plant for the production of 10.000 tpy of PHAs (polyhydroxyalkanoates).
TAIF JSC and Bio-on S.p.A., thanks to this agreement, will start the design and the construction of first plant for the production of PHA bio-plastic obtained from co-products of beet sugar production to be built in the Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation).

  • Presentati i primi risultati del progetto "Fishing for litter", sostenuto da Bio-on, che coinvolge i volontari di Legambiente e i pescatori di Porto Garibaldi per mappare i rifiuti, anche quelli plastici, raccolti nell'Alto Adriatico.
  • Il 95% dei rifiuti pescati in mare nel primo mese del progetto è costituito da plastica. Di questo la maggior parte proviene dalle reti per l'allevamento delle cozze nella zona del Delta del Po.

BIO-ON SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE FIRST TEST PHASE FOR THE SPECIAL BIOPLASTIC PRODUCTION FACILITY INAUGURATED ON 20 JUNE
  • All tests on machines and software are positive and on schedule. The company confirms the full production regime by autumn.
  • In 2018 about 150 tons of micro powders in special PHAs bioplastic will be produced and marketed for the cosmetics industry. The current annual production capacity is 1000 tons.
  • "Respecting the timeline is fundamental," explains CEO Marco Astorri, "since the new European directive about the reduction of pollution caused by traditional plastic, which the European Parliament will vote in September, will open a huge market for biodegradable plastics".

Bologna, 16 JULY 2018 - Bio-on , operating in the sector of bioplastic of high quality and listed on the AIM segment of the Italian Stock Market - Borsa Italiana, announces that it has successfully completed the first test phase on the plants of the new production hub inaugurated on 20 June 2018 at Castel San Pietro Terme near Bologna. This is the first owned factory to produce special bioplastic PHAs, 100% natural and biodegradable, for advanced product niches with high added value such as microscopic beads (microbeads) for the cosmetics industry. The total investment for the production center and for the new research laboratories is 20 million euros.

  • Les investissements dans ce nouvel établissement de production, le premier de propriété Bio-on, se chiffrent à 20 millions d'euros. Il s'agit d'un projet hautement durable, issu de la conversion d'une ancienne usine, sans construction sur terrains vierges, et dont les fournitures d'énergie proviennent d'une installation de tri-génération évoluée.
  • Cette nouvelle usine produira différents types de polymères spéciaux, notamment Minerv Bio Cosmetics, le bioplastique naturel et biodégradable, qui ont pour mission de se substituer aux microbilles polluantes contenues dans les produits de beauté actuels.
  • Les locaux de ce nouvel établissement, situé à Castel San Pietro Terme, près de la ville de Bologne, abriteront également les laboratoires de la division CNS (Cosmetic, Nanomedicine & Smart Materials), où travaillent plus de 20 chercheurs.
  • Avec l'ouverture de ce nouvel établissement, la société Bio-on, dont l'effectif actuel est de 45 employés, prévoit qu'elle doublera son effectif d'ici la fin de l'année.

GimaTT is a leader in the design and assembly of automatic machines on eletronic basis for the the packaging of products derived from tobacco and, in particular, those of new generation at reduced risk. BIO-ON: NEW RESEARCH HUB FOR BIOPLASTIC DEVELOPMENT OPEN FROM 3 APRIL AND NEW LABORATORY EXPANSION CONFIRMED.
  • The new research hub for plastic development is operational from 3 April 2018, as announced in February and several months ahead of schedule. By the end of the year, the space dedicated to the development of new biopolymers will be extended by over 600 m2 to a total of 1000 m2, where over 20 Italian and foreign researchers will be based.
  • Bio-on decided to bring forward the construction of its new research hub ahead of initial plans due to rising demand for special PHAs biopolymers.
  • 2.5 million Euro already invested to fit out the laboratories with the very latest scientific equipment, in addition to the 20 million being invested in the new production plant at Castel San Pietro Terme (Bologna).

PHAS BIOPLASTIC IN PARMA, THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE INDUSTRIAL PLANT STARTS
BOLOGNA 21 February 2018 - The company SECI, holding belonging to the Maccaferri family, announces the launch of the bioplastics project to be carried out at the San Quirico production site using the Bio-on technology. The project will be carried out by the company Sebiplast s.r.l., a controlled company of the SECI Group, in the production site where today stands the sugar factory managed by the operating company of the SECI Group, Sadam S.p.A.
The choice of the San Quirico (PR) production site will guarantee the bioplastics project to benefit from synergies and common services with the sugar factory, but without interfering with the latter's production

BIO-ON BRINGS FORWARD THE OPENING OF ITS NEW RESEARCH CENTRE AND ANNOUNCES A NEW EXTENSION OF ITS LABORATORIES.
  • Bio-on has decided to accelerate the construction of its new research hub due to rising demand for special PHAs biopolymers.
  • Opening is set for 3 April 2018, several months ahead of schedule. By the end of the year, the space dedicated to the development of new biopolymers will be extended by over 600 m2 to a total of 1000 m2, where over 20 Italian and foreign researchers will be based.
  • Additional 2.5 million Euro set aside to fit out the laboratories with the very latest scientific equipment, on top of the 20 million being invested in the new production plant at Castel San Pietro Terme (Bologna).
Bologna, 1 February 2018 - "We have decided to accelerate the development of our new research laboratories to meet the rising demand for special bioplastics from around the world," explains Marco Astorri, Chairman and CEO of Bio-on, as he announced the early opening, on 3 April 2018, of the new research centre alongside Bio-on's first production plant to be inaugurated in June 2018 in Castel San Pietro Terme (Bologna).The company, listed on the AIM segment of BorsaItaliana and the leader in eco-sustainable chemical technologies and production of eco-sustainable and fully biodegradable biopolymers, has invested 2.5 million Euro in cutting-edge scientific equipment. This investment is in addition to the 20 million Euro that Bio-on is already investing in the new plant.

UNE ÉNERGIE PROPRE POUR LA NOUVELLE «USINE» DE BIO-POLYMÈRES BIO-ON, GRÂCE À UNE INSTALLATION TRI-GÉNÉRATRICE RÉALISÉE PAR GRUPPO HERA
Bologne, 16 janvier 2018 - Bio-on, société leader du secteur des technologies pour la chimie écologique, et Gruppo Hera, une des principales sociétés Multi-utility italiennes, ont conclu un accord de fourniture d'une énergie propre, grâce à la réalisation et à la gestion d'un nouveau pôle technologique et énergétique, qui comprendra une installation de tri-génération de conception nouvelle. L'accord a été souscrit par Bio-on S.p.A. avec Hera Servizi Energia, entreprise sous le contrôle de Gruppo Hera, et garantira une énergie électrique propre pour la protection de bio-polymères innovants dans le nouvel établissement que Bio-on construit actuellement, dans le département de Bologne, pour la production de bio-polymères innovants à Castel San Pietro Terme, dans la province de Bologne.

BIO-ON HOSTED THE FINAL MEETING OF THE SEAFRONT, THE EU PROJECT DEDICATED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW GENERATION OF SELF-POLISHING COATINGS
Bologna, 09 January 2018 - Bio-on, the Italian biotechnology company leader in the bioplastic sector and listed in the AIM segment of the Borsa Italiana, organised last December the final event of the European project Synergistic Fouling Control Technologies - SEAFRONT.
In Bologna (Italy), for two days, 50 representatives of five multinationals, seven SMEs and seven research institutes spread across eight EU Member States presented and discussed the results achieved within the four-year project period in the development of environmentally friendly coatings which prevent the undesirable accumulation of marine organisms on boats, ships, tidal power plants and other aquatic installations.
